MBALE PROJECT
FOUNDATION:
CRO Mbale is the first project founded in 1992
LOCATION:
CRO Mbale is situated 230 km East of Kampala in Mbale District.
The project office and drop in center is found on Bishop Wasikye
Road, plot 15-17 in Mbale town.
BENEFICIARIES:
Over the years, CRO Mbale has impacted the lives of over 3000
street children.
- Currently the project is supporting 530 children.
- 70 children attend the Rehabilitation program
- 319 children are sponsored in primary school.
- 85 children attend secondary school.
- 2 children attend university, 16 other tertiary institutions,
- 15 children attend vocational training institute and informal
vocational training, while 23 children are pending resettlement.
COMMUNITY
INVOLVEMENT: CRO Mbale works with local leaders and
400 parents/guardians in Namatala slum community.
STAFF:
17 full time and 5 part time staff work in the project. They
include; The Program Manager, Accountant, Secretary, 7 social
workers, 2 caterers, 2 teachers, 1 nurse, 1 driver, 1 day guard.
The part-time staff work over the weekend and they include;
2 teachers, 1 caterer, 1 guard and 1 nurse.

VOLUNTEERS:
- CRO works closely with 20 volunteer members from the Namatala
slum community to care for people affected and infected with
HIV/AIDS
YOUTH
EXCHANGE PROG: CRO has sent one youth, Johnson Oriokot
to Norway to participate in the Youth Exchange Program, for
a period of 10 months. - Two youths from Norway, Thomas and
Ivny are with CRO for a period of seven months.

BOARD
OF DIRECTORS: CRO Mbale is overseen by seven members
of the Board of Directors. They include;
